# What is PulseSwap?

**PulseSwap is an aggregator of aggregators.** It asks other aggregators _and_ the DEXes themselves for a price at the same moment, then routes your swap through whichever one pays out the most. One interface, 17 blockchains, and any token you can paste a contract address for.

## How best-rate routing works

Type an amount and PulseSwap fans the same quote request out to every DEX & aggregator enabled for that chain. On PulseChain that is 11 of them, the PulseSwap router among them — PulseX V1, PulseX V2, PulseX Stable, 9inch v2, 9inch v3, 9mm v2, 9mm v3, Phux.io, 0xTide, Piteas and PulseSwap — reaching 18,000+ funded pools. On Ethereum and the other supported chains the quotes come from commercial aggregators: 1inch, 0x, KyberSwap and ParaSwap.

Every route comes back with the amount it would pay out and a gas estimate, and the best one is selected for you. The rest stay on screen with what they would have paid, so the winner is something you can check rather than something we promise — and you can take a different route by hand whenever you disagree. The mechanism behind all of this has a longer history than DeFi: [how smart order routing works, from stock exchanges to DEX aggregators](https://pulseswap.io/learn/smart-order-routing).

> **Why "of aggregators" matters:** because PulseSwap reads the other aggregators alongside the DEXes themselves, the best quote it shows is at least as good as any single source it asked — it matches them when one of them wins, and beats them when a direct pool does.

## DEXes, aggregators & supported chains

The PulseChain list below is rendered from the same routing config the swap fans out to, so this page cannot drift from what the app actually calls.

- **PulseChain** — 11 DEXes & aggregators (PulseX V1, PulseX V2, PulseX Stable, 9inch v2, 9inch v3, 9mm v2, 9mm v3, Phux.io, 0xTide, Piteas, PulseSwap), reaching 18,000+ funded pools.
- **Everywhere else** — Ethereum, Arbitrum, Base, BSC, Polygon and the rest, 17 blockchains in total, quoted through aggregator partners.

The full matrix lives on [Supported chains & DEXes](https://pulseswap.io/docs/supported-chains), generated from the same routing config.

## Custody & wallets

PulseSwap is **non-custodial**: the swap executes from your wallet to the router contract, and your funds are never held by us. There is no account, no signup and no email — connecting a wallet is the whole onboarding, and disconnecting is the whole offboarding.

You do not have to connect anything to look, either. Quotes are fetched and ranked with no wallet attached, so you can compare rates first and connect only when you decide to trade.

MetaMask does not carry PulseChain out of the box, so it has to be added once before a swap on it will work. [Add PulseChain to MetaMask](https://pulseswap.io/learn/add-pulsechain-to-metamask) does it in one click, and prints the RPC URL, chain ID and currency symbol for anyone entering them by hand.

## Frequently asked questions

### What are the fees for swapping?

To keep PulseSwap and PulseCoinList ad-free and improving, a small 0.25% convenience fee is applied to swaps. We've supported the community for 3+ years with free, community-first services; this fee sustains that effort.

### Which blockchains and tokens does PulseSwap support?

PulseSwap supports 17 blockchains, including PulseChain, Ethereum, Arbitrum, Polygon, BSC, Base, and more (see dropdown). We also support any token that is tradable in DeFi—you can choose from over 20,000 preloaded tokens or paste any token's contract address into the search field to swap.

### Is my privacy protected when using PulseSwap?

Your swap settles on-chain straight from your own wallet — PulseSwap has no accounts, no signup, and never holds your funds. You can also fetch and compare quotes without connecting a wallet at all.

### Does PulseSwap work on mobile?

Yes! PulseSwap is mobile-friendly and works like a native app. You can connect wallets like MetaMask, Phantom Wallet, or Trust Wallet to swap instantly from your phone. Add PulseSwap to your home screen on iOS and Android for a native app-like experience with full wallet support.

### How long does a swap take?

Swap times depend on the blockchain and network congestion. Most swaps complete within seconds to a few minutes. If the network is busy, consider increasing your gas fee for a faster transaction within your wallet.
